Cravens Warren Participates in University of Houston's "Meet the Industry Day"

On February 11, 2011, the College of Business at the University of Houston Downtown held it's annual "Meet the Industry Day".  The event introduced students to a wide variety of industries and careers pertaining to students majoring in but not limited to Finance, Business, CIS, Supply Chain, Accounting, and Insurance & Risk Management, International Business, Management, and Marketing.

Confirmed keynote speakers for the event were: Ronald C. Green, Houston City Controller; Thomas Smouse, Human Resources Director, Noble Energy, Inc.; Wil Smith, Business Consultant, Workforce Solutions, and Downey Bridgwater, President and CEO of Sterling Bank.  The keynote speakers gave a two hour presentation to over 200 students, giving them an overview of the opportunities the Houston Economy affords new graduates.

Mike Schneider, President of Cravens Warren, and Ashley Western, Commercial Business Development Manager for Cravens Warren, attended the event.  Ashley was recognized as a future leader in the industry, and was honored by being asked to participate in a panelist discussion on Insurance & Risk Management career opportunties.  Ashley encouraged students to explore the various careers that exist within the industry, and helped them to understand that the industry holds great opportunty for tomorrow's leaders in business.

The moderator for the panel was Wendall Braniff, JD, MS, Director of the UHD Insurance & Risk Managment Center.
