NFIP Changes
The National Flood Insurance Program announced that it is making changes to the program, effective October 1, 2009. Premiums will increase an average of 8 percent overall. The greatest jump will be for policies in the highest risk categories—inside the Special Flood Hazard Areas. Deductibles will double for most types of policies.
